3 apple festivals happening this weekend

Tis the weekend for apple festivals. And there's no Packer game this Sunday, so there's that. No matter what side of the city you live on, there's an apple festival for you! Read on to find your favorite.

Thiensville AppleFest

Enjoy the charming small town atmosphere in a beautiful park on the shores of the Milwaukee River. Applefest will feature live music by the Squeezettes, along with vendors of fresh apples and apple cider, as well as other fall treats and crafts. This is a family friendly event highlighted by hay rides, a performance by Kohl’s Wild Theatre, an apple pie baking contest, coloring contest, polka contest, big wheel racing, and face painting. Applefest will feature delicious apple brats along with apple pies and other food and beverages.

Apple Fest at New Berlin Historical Park

Crank the corn sheller, grind and press apples for cider, ride the orchard barrel train, square dance in the barn, purchase heirloom apples from Westin's Antique Apple Orchard, pumpkins, squash, cornstalks, and honey from the beekeeper. Plus, tour the pioneer-era homes and buildings in New Berlin Historical Park!

This popular event features cider press demonstrations, free cider tasting, live music, crafts for kids, guided nature walks and lots of delicious food. Apples from Patterson’s Orchard will be for sale. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Wehr and assist the needs of Wehr Nature Center.
